  • Observe magnificent wildlife, including lions, elephants, and hippos, on exciting game drives and gain insight into conservation efforts

Important Trip Details:
The hikes to see the mountain gorillas can last anywhere from 2 to 7 hours over moderately steep, thickly forested, uneven terrain, and sometimes off-trail. There are also some long driving days and morning/afternoon game drives in 4WD vehicles over rough roads and dusty dirt tracks.

You will depart early this morning with a packed breakfast and spend most of the day in the forest and up to 4 hours observing the chimps! Follow experienced ranger-guides and a tracker, listening out for the chimps' pant-hooting calls on your way to their nesting site. An early start means the opportunity to see them waking up, stretching, and descending from the tree tops. As the day goes on, you'll quietly witness their routines, see them eat, and watch the group's social interactions. Late in the afternoon, you will say farewell (and goodnight) to the chimps and head back to park headquarters.
